Afghan Culture

Afghan people are very kind and welcoming. If someone offers you tea or food, it is a sign of respect and friendship.

In most places, saying “Salam Alaikum” and shaking hands (for men) shows good manners and respect.

Hand on chest: Some people put their hand on their chest when saying hello or goodbye. It shows respect.

Covering the head (for women): Many women wear a scarf or shawl when they go outside.

People always show respect to older people when talking, sitting, or eating.
